Cruising

Image
Our 4 day cruise was mainly at sea. We docked late in Victoria as the windy conditions made docking dangerous. We spent a lot of time relaxing, walking the promenade deck, in the hot tub, drinking champagne & dinning. A wonderful way to ease into my 60's!

Birthday celebrations

I can highly recommend celebrating your birthday on-board! From breakfast in bed complete with mimosas to balloons, birthday cards, birthday wishes on your cabin door, special towel animals in the cabin, singing and cake in the dining room, Holland America makes you feel really special!

Boarding the Westerdam

A beautiful day in San Diego Harbor to board the ship! We upgraded to a Neptune Suite, so our cabin is huge. We finally receive our luggage - security was holding it because Ian had a frying pan in the suitcase! Champagne toast from our private deck as we depart.

San Diego Saturday/ Sunday morning

A walk at Mission Bay in the morning, a little shopping, then more relaxing at Karen's. Sunday morning a walk around America's Cup Harbor and out to Shelter Island.

Birthday Coastal Cruise

When I saw that the Westerdam was cruising from San Diego to Vancouver starting the day before my 60th birthday, I decided that that was the perfect way to celebrate! Ian, Karen & Aaron, Mom & Betty joined me.

San Diego Friday

We had a lovely relaxed day enjoying the sun in San Diego after Vancouver's rainy weather! Karen & I walked before breakfast, then we all went to Liberty Station for lunch with Cheryl and Mike. We enjoyed a walk along the water, watching all of the little ground squirrels running around, then back to Karen's. Some relaxed in the back yard, while others got busy with dinner! Lime meringue pie for desert.
